HS Orka owns and operates two hydroelectric power plants in Fjarðará in Seyðisfjörður, and their installed power is a total of 9.8 MW.
Fjardarárvirkjanin was commissioned in 2009. There are two power plants, Bjólfsvirkjun and Gúlsvirkjun. HS Orka bought the power plants in August 2023, but previously HS Orka managed their electricity production and bought all electricity from them since their commissioning.
There are good relay reservoirs in Lake Heiðarvatn and Þverárlón in Fjarðarheiði, and transmission from them enables HS Orku to use the power plants' production to meet load peaks of general users in winter. The power plants' production is primarily intended as part of energy sales to general users. The installed capacity of Fjarðarárvirkjana in Seyðisfjörður is a total of 9.8 MW.
