The report follows international standards (GRI/ESRS) for sustainability reporting and, for the first time, includes detailed information about the eligibility and alignment of HS Orka’s activities according to the criteria of the EU Taxonomy.
The report reviews HS Orka’s main responses to emerging natural hazards and its cooperation with various stakeholders and relevant institutions. It also highlights efforts related to the reinforcement of district heating utility for the Suðurnes region, including increased hot water production in Svartsengi, the development of a backup heating system for the region, and future infrastructure expansion beyond Svartsengi.
