Yngvi Guðmundsson was appointed Executive Vice President of Project Development & Construction at HS Orka in January 2026, having joined the company as Chief Engineer in 2017. As EVP, he is responsible for HS Orka’s new and ongoing power projects, from early-stage development through execution of major construction activities.

Before joining HS Orka, Yngvi worked as a project manager for geothermal projects, both internationally and in Iceland, at Verkís Consulting from 2012 to 2017. Prior to that, he served as a project manager in electrical and mechanical systems at Icelandic Prime Contractor (ÍAV) from 2007 to 2010.

Yngvi Guðmundsson holds an M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University in South Africa and a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iceland. Yngvi is also a part time lecturer at the UNESCO Geothermal Training Programme.
