Lilja Magnúsdóttir

Lilja Magnúsdóttir holds a Ph.D. degree in energy resources engineering from Stanford University in the United States and a M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Iceland. She has also completed project management and leadership training through the University of Iceland’s Continuing Education program and serves as the chairman of the Geothermal Association of Iceland. Lilja joined HS Orka in 2020 and led the resource management department from 2023 to 2025 after which she became Excecutive Vice President of Resources. She has extensive experience in geothermal and reservoir engineering, both in Iceland and internationally. Previously, she worked as a senior engineer in the design and development department at Tesla‘s solar cell division in California, where her design resulted in a patented technology.
