Policies
The policy taken by HS is to ensure full employee equality, and that each employee
be judged his own merits rather than by age, sex, nationality, race, religion or political views.
We also guarantee our employees proper facilities, educational opportunities and various benefits
for the great jobs we have to offer.
Goal
The goal of the company is to assure gender equality within the company; with each employee having
his or her right guaranteed according to this agenda.
Responsibility
Implementing employee equality policies is in the hands of the personnel manager, who is accountable
for enforcing the practice of the policies and that their goals be achieved. If any employee feels
as if he or she is being discriminated against, the personnel manager will ensure proper assistance
will be provided.
Revision and Promotion
The personnel manager handles revision and promotion of these policies. The policies themselves are
revised every two years. The equality policies are introduced to the board of directors and employees.
Measures and Procedures to ensure these goals
- While hiring or promoting employees equality should be upheld. ( Maintaining equal status and equal
opportunities.) All jobs advertised should encourage both sexes to apply for the job/s.
- Each and every position within in the company should be available to both sexes. ( Jobs should not be
categorized into male or female jobs.)
- All salaries and benefits for positions in the company should take into account the extent of
responsibilities entailed and required by each job, along with education and experience. (Reforming
and eradicating any gender based salary difference.) Women and men shall have equal access to job-based
educational opportunities and training; and that all information pertaining to seminars held by the company
be visible. ( Everybody should have the same right to develop their skills irrespective of gender).
- When forming work-groups, each project shall take into account the knowledge and experience of employees.
Every work-group should include a work mandate where each group member be named and appointed. (Committees and
boards)
- The company takes measures to ensure that employees are given the chance to accommodate both sexes in
facilitating occupational and family obligations; for example when employees return from sick leave or parental
leave by offering part time jobs. (Gender mainstreaming)
- Sexual harassment and bullying are eradicated by offering education, since such behavior will not be
tolerated. (Harassment)
